His seascape paintings have found their way into private
collections belonging to former President George W. Bush who states, "Dear Mr. Vignari, we are deeply touched, the Sea gives us great
strength and comfort, your wonderful painting captures it all". And
the late John D. MacArthur the noted philanthropist, acquired a large
collection of Vignari's paintings throughout his career. These paintings
will soon be on display in the MacArthur Museum.
Mr. Vignari is a versatile artist. His art career progressed
from marine painting to impressionism, abstract expressionism and currently
to Vignari-ism a unique art form that he calls "Freedom Flow".
In 1979, after becoming impressed by the workmanship of the noted artist,
Jackson Pollack, he began his own search for a new horizon and freedom.
Characteristic of his Sicilian temperament, he boldly eliminated the use of
brushes, easels, painting knives and other materials normally used. This
resulted in his current innovative and original work, Freedom Flow. The
powerful rhythm for his abstract painting, he believes, was acquired from
his years of sea paintings.
After
numerous years as successful marine artist, he ventured to explore and
discover an unquestionable liberation to find a new excitement. Like the
never ending movement of the powerful sea with its continually changing
waves, rich in texture in every painting created has its own carefree
spiritual identity. His work flows onto the canvasses in dissimilar
directions, interpolating into his subject matter. His work is difficult to
describe and must be viewed to be appreciated.
He addresses his work with no steadfast idea of what will
evolve in his painting. When he sees a slowly emerging configuration or
other contingent matter that is also created in an abstract fashion. Like
many creators he challenges to explore and experiment as a lone innovator.
His work has a strong boldness and power depicting a soft
impressionable quality, in which he has mastered light and shadows, an
impact you won't easily forget. "Outstanding, well done, poetry in
color." Journal American, N.Y. And he has the ability to articulate to
people in all walks of life. Characteristic of his Sicilian temperament, a
dramatic independence, a living experience. His paintings speak for
themselves and have been widely exposed in numerous Museums Galleries and
they could be viewed in many significant collections worldwide.
Vignari has given hundreds of art-master workshops, lectures
and demos nationwide and abroad. He is a member of the Palm Beach Council
of the Arts and Broward Cultural Affairs Division ... He is noted in the Preferred Artist list of American painters...
He is featured in the New York Art Review book and compiled
and published in 1971 a catalog of fine art marine graphics of 300 years of
noted marine artists, entitled "SEA, MEN AND SHIPS," published by
Random House catalogs in New York
